Tony Buzbee is a renowned Houston lawyer with a passion for traveling.
Tony Buzbee is the managing attorney at the Buzbee Law Firm, which he founded in 1999. He began his law career two years earlier in 1997 when Buzbee worked for a federal district judge as a briefing attorney in the Southern District of Texas. From there, Buzbee was hired as an associate attorney by Susman Godfrey LLP, and after spending a year in their employment, Buzbee ventured out on his own to start the Buzbee Law Firm.
Today, Buzbee oversees more than fifty employees in two offices and ten lawyers. While his career keeps him occupied, Buzbee still finds time to devote to his community, as he currently serves on a number of boards, including serving as a Regent for the Texas A&M University System. Tony Buzbee was honored by Texas A&M University when the university named the Buzbee Leadership Learning Center after him. As a graduate of Texas A&M University, this commendation was particularly meaningful. Among other accolades, Mr. Buzbee has been profiled in numerous magazines, including the New York Times Magazine and Texas Monthly, and was named as one of the top fifty “Premier” Plaintiff’s firms in the United States by the National Law Journal. Tony Buzbee has collected more than $2 billion on behalf of his clients, and has been involved in some of the most important litigation in Texas and the United States. Buzbee has represented the Governor of Texas, Jimmy Buffett, several Mexican states, the State of Louisiana, and the Basque Country in Spain.
Tony Buzbee began his interest in travel while a recon officer in the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Corps took him to far away places such as Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Somalia. After achieving tremendous success in the law field, Tony now has the ability to travel for extended periods of time, all over the world. He has traveled across the globe and always employs local guides who provide him access to the quintessential foods and activities of the locale. Some of his fondest memories are of dog sledding with his son in Greenland, landing a helicopter on a glacier in Alaska, bungi jumping with his kids in New Zealand, and canyoning in Tasmania with his brother. Buzbee is also a frequent visitor to the Bahamas and the lower Carribean, and is always looking for the perfect beach on which to enjoy a view and a drink.
